Perfect for intermediate/developing throwers | small class size | 25 hours of teaching | £750 per person

This 5-day throwing development intensive is designed for potters with some wheel-throwing experience who want to dedicate focused time to refining their skills, tackling more complex forms, and developing greater confidence and independence at the wheel.

Working in a small group over five immersive days, you'll explore larger amounts of clay, taller and more refined forms, closed and split-rim forms, lidded vessels, advanced trimming techniques, and surface decoration. Through demonstrations, guided exercises, and plenty of making time, you'll build technical confidence while developing a deeper understanding of form, process, and finishing.

As the week progresses, the focus shifts from technical skill-building to developing your own work, with opportunities for individual feedback, discussion, and some self-directed making. The final day explores how to move forward independently, helping you identify areas for continued development and establish a more intentional approach to your practice.

This intensive is ideal for potters who are comfortable centring and throwing basic forms and are ready to challenge themselves, improve consistency, and expand their throwing vocabulary in a focused and supportive studio environment.
